Overview

Rasa Viet Kitchen Damansara Kim is a charming Vietnamese eatery tucked away in the heart of Damansara Kim, Petaling Jaya. This spot brings authentic Vietnamese flavors to life, specializing in classic dishes like their renowned Beef Pho and Fried Spring Rolls. The restaurant’s cozy size, seating around 24 to 25 guests, creates an intimate dining experience where the warmth of traditional Vietnamese lanterns and the soft yellow tones inspired by Hoi An set a relaxed mood.

The menu highlights include staples that marry simplicity and bold flavor: from hearty noodle soups like the Classic Beef Pho and Grilled Chicken Pho to their crispy, golden Fried Spring Rolls that customers can’t stop raving about. The pickled garlic and chili served alongside enhance the rolls with a tangy kick. Another must-try is the drip coffee with milk, a smooth, rich brew that pairs perfectly with the sweet Classic Caramel Pudding — a delightful way to round off your meal.

Rasa Viet Kitchen’s attentive service stands out just as much as its food. Waitstaff go beyond routine, offering thoughtful recommendations like adding fermented garlic chili and lemon juice to the noodle soup for a vibrant, spicy-sour twist. Their genuine care is evident in moments such as swiftly responding to a child’s spice sensitivity by offering water and a fresh soup. This level of hospitality makes the experience welcoming for families and adventurous eaters alike.

The space, while intimate, is well-maintained but may feel a bit snug during busy hours. Conversations at neighboring tables are easily overheard, which adds to the bustling, convivial atmosphere but might be a consideration for those seeking privacy. The restaurant seems ideal for small groups or casual dining where appreciation of authentic Vietnamese flavors takes center stage over a spacious setting.

Rasa Viet Kitchen invites both Vietnamese cuisine enthusiasts and newcomers to explore a curated menu rooted in tradition yet served with a warm Malaysian hospitality. With its location accessible in Damansara Kim and a menu that caters to varied palates—from classic noodle bowls to creative sandwiches and prawn curry—it positions itself as a go-to spot for those craving genuine Vietnamese tastes in a straightforward, welcoming environment.

The restaurant is not that big, maybe it can accommodate around 24-25pax at one time. Excellent service rendered by the waiter. The food was good, particularly the fried roll. We ordered another portion of the fried rolls to share. I like the pickled thinly sliced garlic and chilli. It was good to go with the rolls. My husband was so adventurous, he ordered the lotus tea which he couldn't finish the drink as the tea was a little bit tannic. :) The atmosphere is ok with simple Vietnamese lanterns and Hoi-An signature yellow tone interior paint. You probably can hear what's your next table conversion as some of the tables arrangement was quite close to each other.

A little warm in the restaurant when we dine in at 3.30pm. Probably we seated near the entrance. The food is pretty good especially the beef noodles. The coffee drip is a must to drink too. The staff is friendly and helpful when taking orders from our table. And even when my friend ordered a take away coffee after their last call reminder. Really thank you for that!

Taste is subjective. Servers are friendly & helpful. Had P2 special Beef noodle RM26.90. V1 grilled chicken salad RM21.90 A little pricey. Special beef noodle didn't tick my box unfortunately. Grilled chicken salad was nice according to my friend. Seating wise limited due to shop size.

The food was delicious and served in generous portions. The waiter’s service was excellent. He recommended adding 1 teaspoon of fermented garlic with chili, 1 teaspoon of ‘belacan’, and the juice of 1 lemon to the noodle soup. The soup turned out spicy and sour — and it tasted amazing. My son did the same with his noodle soup, but it was a bit too spicy for him. The waiter noticed this and kindly brought him a glass of water and a fresh bowl of soup. He then advised my son to transfer the noodles into the new bowl. After that, the waiter kept checking in, showing genuine concern for my son.

Love the environment and food is fantastic. Hardly eat Vietnam cuisine so it’s a thumbs up for me. The space is a bit small and with full house it’s a bit hard to have proper conversation.

The first thing that caught my eye upon arrival was the vibrant, colorful interior, where the hues of the Vietnamese flag take center stage. Another notable feature was the small seating area, accommodating no more than 24 people. It’s compact, cozy yet comfortable. I visited for an early lunch on a quiet Sunday, with only one other patron present. The cheerful waiter promptly took my order: fresh shrimp rolls, beef noodles, drip coffee, and a crème caramel for dessert. The food arrived shortly after, looking fresh and beautifully presented. Now, let’s talk about the flavors. Although my order wasn’t very diverse, everything I tried was delicious. The soup for the beef noodles was rich in umami and packed with flavorful, aromatic herbs. The waiter recommended adding the pickled chili-ginger condiment, which I did—and it did made the noodles even more appetizing. The fresh shrimp rolls were delightful, especially when paired with the peanut sauce. The drip coffee was strong, rich, and full of flavor, while the petite crème caramel provided the perfect ending to the meal. I would gladly return without hesitation.

The restaurant is not very big, but it's clean and cozy. The server was excellent, he was super friendly and helpful. He was funny as well :) We came in a group of four and ordered the mango salad, assorted spring rolls, special beef pho, prawn pho and grilled chicken bahn mi. Portion was generous and food came out quickly. Personally I loved the appetisers more than the mains but overall it was well worth the visit! Keep up the great work you guys!
